Mr. Rittereiser serves as Managing Partner in HKM’s Seattle, Portland, and Bozeman offices. An experienced trial attorney, his litigation practice disrupts industries challenging antiquated business practices that deprive workers of pay and benefits to which they are entitled. With a focus on employment law, complex civil litigation, and class actions, he has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars on behalf of workers, including some of the largest wage and hour class action verdicts, judgments, and settlements in the country.
For his work, Mr. Rittereiser has been included in the list of The Best Lawyers in America® for Employment Law, selected to The National Trial Lawyers – Top 100 Civil Plaintiff Lawyers, earned a Top 50 Jury Verdict in the United States in 2024, the Number 1 Verdict in the United States for Wage and Hour Violations, recognized as the Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year by the King County Bar Association, and named a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers® magazine.
Prior to HKM, Mr. Rittereiser served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for the King County Prosecutor’s Office. A native of Eastern Washington, he received his degree in Economics from the University of Washington and earned his law degree from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago.
In addition, Mr. Rittereiser has been twice appointed by the Governor of Washington to the State Advisory Council on Homelessness, where he served to address the complex issues that affect our communities’ most vulnerable people and volunteers his legal services representing crime victims to ensure their rights and interests are protected.
