Ms. Guesno is a Partner at HKM’s Denver office. Ms. Guesno is a fierce trial lawyer who relies on two decades of courtroom experience to advocate for her clients. She is client-focused, empathetic, and committed to achieving the best possible outcomes.
At HKM, she leverages her extensive background in employment litigation to the advantage of the individuals she now represents. She began her legal career in 2003 as a Public Defender, where she tried more than seventy criminal cases. In 2012, she transitioned into employment law and spent ten years defending employers in employment litigation nationwide. From 2012 to 2018, she first-chaired ten trials across the country — including in Denver, Washington D.C., Boston, Chicago, Minneapolis, Kansas City, and Cincinnati — on behalf of corporate clients.
In 2023, Ms. Guesno decided to change sides and began representing employees taking the twenty years of experience in the courtroom and working for employers and using it for the benefit of employees.
A lot of Ms. Guesno’s clients ask why Ms. Guesno made such a 180-degree change in her career. Ms. Guesno will tell them that her son was diagnosed with autism at three years old which was life changing for her family. In addition, she and her husband began fostering two Guatemalan refugees which was also life changing and compelled the 180-degree career change. Ms. Guesno enjoys a hard fought battle in a courtroom especially when it results in a win for her employee clients, which is what she and her HKM team fights for every day.
