Carla Grabarek

Ms. Grabarek is an Attorney at HKM in the firm’s Portland, Oregon office. Ms. Grabarek’s litigation practice includes employment actions related to discrimination, harassment, disability accommodation, protected leave, and wrongful termination.
A native Oregonian, Ms. Grabarek obtained her undergraduate degree in Biology with a secondary teaching certification from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. Returning to Oregon after graduation, she taught science in Portland high schools before deciding to go to law school. While at Lewis & Clark Northwestern School of Law, she participated in the pro bono legal clinic, advocating for domestic violence victims in contested proceedings. After graduating from Lewis & Clark, Ms. Grabarek practiced in a large insurance defense litigation firm, handling a diverse range of complex litigation cases including construction defect, personal injury, professional liability, premises liability, and employment matters.
Recently transitioning her litigation practice to represent plaintiffs, she utilizes her experience and knowledge of corporations’ and insurers’ defense tactics to obtain better results for her clients.
