John J. Ziegelmeyer III is a seasoned employment law attorney with over 17 years of experience advocating for employees’ rights. A 2006 graduate of the University of Tulsa College of Law, John has been admitted to practice in Missouri and Kansas and the United States District Courts in both states.
Since starting his career, John has dedicated his practice to representing plaintiffs in employment discrimination and wage-and-hour cases. His deep involvement in organizations like the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA) and the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association (KCMBA) has sharpened his expertise and kept him at the forefront of employment law. John has also served in leadership roles, including chairing the KCMBA Labor and Employment Committee.
Throughout his career, John has been involved in numerous jury and bench trials and appeals to the Missouri Court of Appeals, the Missouri Supreme Court, and the Eighth and Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. Notably, he co-authored an amicus brief in State ex rel. Tivol Plaza, Inc. v. Missouri Commission on Human Rights, contributing to important legal precedent.
Recognized as a legal industry leader, John was named a Super Lawyers Rising Star annually from 2011 to 2021 and has been a Super Lawyer every year since. The Kansas City Business Journal also honored him as a “Best of the Bar” in 2016.
