Sam is a zealous advocate who is passionate about helping people with employment issues. His
practice focuses on employment litigation, including matters of discrimination, harassment,
wrongful termination, disability accommodation, and protected leave laws. Sam also litigates
complex civil and class action cases, including wage and hour class actions nationwide.
A talented litigator, Sam has extensive experience in employment litigation and has represented both employers and employees. Most recently, Sam worked in the labor and employment law group at a premier defense law firm in the Pacific Northwest. Prior to that, he gained experience at a boutique commercial litigation firm in Seattle, Washington, and spent several years fighting
for workers at a union-side labor law firm in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Sam earned his law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School. While in law school,
he interned at both the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the
National Labor Relations Board (NLRB); worked as a Peggy Browning Fellow for the United
Mine Workers of America and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters; served as a Notes and
Articles Editor for the ABA Journal of Labor and Employment Law; worked as a law clerk for
the largest education union in Minnesota; and received a concentration in labor and employment law. Sam also served as the co-president of the Student Employment and Labor Law Association and worked as a certified student attorney in the law school’s Workers’ Rights Clinic, where he helped individuals secure unemployment benefits.
Sam Jackson operates out of our Portland and Seattle offices.
