Julia Friday was born and grew up in former Czechoslovakia. She came to the United States as an exchange student in 1998 and holds a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Binghamton University.
Prior to working in the legal field, she taught at several academic institutions, including Ohio University and SUNY New Paltz. Transitioning into the legal field in 2015, Julia found her niche as a litigation paralegal. Her background in academia and her passion for social justice have greatly influenced her work.
Raised in Czechoslovakia under the Communist regime, Julia had written on the methods that state institutional systems have been used to repress dissident voices.
As a member of the contingent faculty in the SUNY system, she experienced firsthand the financial and professional plight of its part-time workers, where the demands of the position outstripped the compensation. This experience made her realize the vital importance of labor advocacy.
Julia thrives on client interaction, whether she’s engaging with prospective clients or supporting current ones. She very much enjoys preparing motion filings and reviewing discovery.
