Seungjai (SJ) Oh is an Attorney of HKM’s Riverside office. Having defended numerous lawsuits on behalf of businesses, SJ now leverages that experience to overcome defense tactics and level the playing field. SJ now represents employees and workers of all backgrounds in individual claims for workplace discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, violations of Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), violations of California Family Rights Act (CFRA), and other employment disputes.
Prior to becoming an attorney, SJ has worked a variety of odd jobs: an LA fashion district wholesale clothing deliverer, a personal English tutor, a foreign English teacher, a paralegal, and a barista. He is personally familiar with part-time jobs, break periods, clocking systems, tips, locker room talk, office drama, and so forth.
As a judicial extern to the Honorable David S. Cunningham III at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse, SJ gained invaluable insight into how judges, judicial clerks, court staff, and the court system operate. SJ utilizes his experience drafting tentative rulings to predict and obtain favorable court rulings.
SJ also volunteered at Bet Tzedek (a Los Angeles non-profit law firm) where he assisted elder abuse and homeowner fraud victims. With a compassion for harmed people, SJ fights tooth and nail to bring the justice that each individual person deserves.
