Taylor Jones

Taylor is an attorney of our Houston, Texas office. Taylor represents employees in all aspects of legal matters related to employment law. Her legal expertise spans across several venues.  Prior to joining HKM Employment Attorneys, Taylor recovered tens of millions of dollars in back wages on behalf of employees across the country in overtime class and collective actions. Likewise, prior to shifting to employment law, Taylor represented victims and the State of Maryland by serving as a Special Assistant State’s Attorney in Montgomery County, Maryland and as a law clerk to the Honorable Harry C. Storm of the District Court of Montgomery County, Maryland.

Notably, Taylor successfully briefed and obtained a favorable opinion from the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, which held the Supreme Court’s holding in Bristol-Meyers Squibb did not deprive the federal district court of personal jurisdiction over out-of-state opt-in plaintiffs in FLSA collective action. Waters v. Day & Zimmerman NPS, Inc., 23 F.4th 84 (1st Cir. 2022), cert. denied, 142 S. Ct. 2777 (2022). This favorable decision created a Circuit-split of how federal courts treat nation-wide FLSA collective actions.

Taylor is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and Georgetown University Law Center. During law school, Taylor taught high school students in connection with the Georgetown Street Law Program.  While obtaining her undergraduate degree, Taylor was a Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellow. Taylor is also fluent in Italian and French.
