Ian Taylor, Jr. applies his extensive experience in public service to do what is right for employees facing illegal workplace practices.
He previously served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Minnesota Attorney General’s Officer, where he represented several State departments and agencies in employment litigation and counseling as well as in constitutional matters. He has advocated for clients through state and federal courts, including an oral argument before the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Prior to his service as an AAG, he was an Assistant County Attorney who made hundreds of appearances before judicial officers and sharpened his oral advocacy skills.
As a certified negotiation professional, Ian applies intention and strategy to resolving cases through settlement and mediation, though he is prepared to litigate when necessary.
He graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School where he was Lead Articles Editor for the Minnesota Journal of International Law and President of the Black Law Student Association.
As a New Orleans native who grew up in Minnesota, Ian appreciates what it means to join a new community and advocate for yourself. It is this experience that has inspired him to advocate for others as an attorney.
Ian is passionate about exploring global cultures. He spent six months in Eastern Africa while he was in college and has visited multiple states and countries.
Outside of the office, he enjoys reading, cooking and spending time with family and friends.
