Desirée Salomone
Desirée “Des” Salomone approaches lawyering with radical integrity, centering clients’ autonomy: achieving clients’ goals is the Number One Priority. Des is both efficient and effective.
Des Salomone joins HKM after nearly a decade of experience as a New York City trial attorney (Kings County), exclusively defending individuals against the state. Not coming from a family of lawyers but rather from a family of union members, lived experience and principles of collective liberation guide all aspects of Des’ work.
Des Salomone graduated cum laude from Pace Law School with a certification in International Law, where they were also awarded the title of Most Promising Law Student of the graduating class of 2014. As a student, Des worked at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, the Pace Immigration Law Clinic, and at Center for Constitutional Rights, among other firms and organizations. Honors include being the recipient of the Pace LGBTQIA Alumni Achievement Award, the Marville Scholarship for Outstanding Moral and Civic Commitment, and the Winifred Sobie Pasternack Award in Civil Rights.
When they are not lawyering, Des enjoys backcountry camping, reveling in community, and contemplating the cosmos.
